The Jinsan Recreation Forest facing the Daedoon Mountains is a very good place to visit. I don’t mean to underestimate or to downplay the experience I had in the place and the place per se. That would be utter injustice to generalize this wonderful place by merely describing it as GOOD. By GOOD, I mean: Gorby House This is the house especially built for the former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Gorbachev’s visit to the Land of the Morning Calm. Wittingly dubbed as the “Gorby House,” it is complete with facilities that will guarantee the guests a very comfortable stay. It may look simple from the outside because of its humble facade, but going inside is another story. By the graciousness of the owner himself, we, the church members, were granted the permission to have a look inside the supposedly very private house. It has very well-maintained amenities like the guestroom, kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Aptly, this house is truly Gorby, in the sense that it possesses a simple sophistication that is truly inviting, much like the charisma of the leader himself. Overwhelming view Breathtaking, stunning, amazing, and all other synonyms combined would be what best describes the area’s numerous peaks. The mountains in sight are home to millions of lush, green trees that were planted some 50 years back. Until today, the trees stand rooted and proud, a testament of the owner’s strong advocate for a healthier and literally, a greener earth. Outstanding hospitality During worship time, a very unassuming man, wise and tall in age and experience was seated on the far edge of the cottage. Little did I know that this person sitting just behind me, donned with a simple shirt and cap, is none other than the man who is responsible for the preservation and maintenance of the area, the owner of the vastness surrounding me. Dr. Yoo is a very generous man, allowing us access to private areas. Not only that, he took us to these places himself, loaded with enriching and interesting stories to share. With all his firsthand experiences and the inherent bond he has with the place, it was definitely an awesome experience to have him as our tour guide. Divine encounter Daedoon Mountain is undoubtedly among the best places to consider for vacations, outings, sightseeing, and all other recreational activities. But for me, nothing would beat the experience of having fellowship with God close to nature. As Dr. Yoo himself said, we can strongly feel God’s presence with all His Creation surrounding us. This place is highly recommended not just to indulge ourselves of earthly pleasures, but to consider this place as a haven for spiritual retreat, a Divine Encounter with God.
